Hi, I’m Kat, also known as YellowRoseKat, Mattie or StMatt around the Interwebs. I started my online fandom fascination in the early ’90s, connecting with other fans around the world through bulletin board systems (BBS) and newsgroups. I had the opportunity to meet my first group of online friends in 1994 at a Michael Nesmith (of the Monkees) concert where one of our group proposed to his girlfriend. Since then, I’ve joined multiple fan message boards and have met fellow fans of my favorite tv show, Supernatural, at conventions held in Dallas, TX. I even met my own sweetheart and love of my life through a Supernatural message board (we met two years before they ran a similar story on the show).

I started in graphics design at around the same time. As a secretary for a local community college I was called on to help out in the graphics department as well as being one of the first to bring the school online with “this new thing called the World Wide Web.” Besides what I learned watching over the shoulders of the school’s graphics designers, all of my art, graphics and web design skills are self-taught.

In addition to creating designs for print-on-demand (POD) sites, I also make handmade, original jewelry in fine and sterling silver, copper and bronze and work as a freelance web developer for companies such as Pier 1 Imports. I use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, ArtRage and a Wacom Intuos tablet to create all original designs and artwork.

Thanks to sites like CafePress.com and Zazzle.com, I can create designs through officially licensed fan portals for some of my favorite TV shows, movies and artists. I’m so excited to get to share my enthusiasm and designs with other fans who feel the same way I do about the shows I love.
